The introduction to this book is very stylish. Lots of bright color and a very large font. It begins talking about how technology can only be encountered with impunity if you are a serious artist. I think what Edward is trying to say is that it takes an artist to see applications for technology that was intended for something else. Artist have appropriated, re-used and invented technology to bring their ideas to reality. At this point, both art and electronic technology are in symbiosis with each other.
